SunShift
monitors the current Eskom (National Grid) loadshedding status every half hour.
Upon receiving loadshedding times, SunShift immediately starts to optimize
battery usage. If your batteries do not have enough charge, SunShift will
charge them using the least grid power possible. If there is enough solar
available, it will use that. It calculates how much to charge based on your
load prediction (historical data), ensuring it only charges the minimum needed. If
there is no solar or grid energy available, battery optimization will only
start once it becomes available with the condition that there is an imminent
next loadshedding timeframe.
