If you're having trouble connecting your SunShift dongle to Wi-Fi through the app or prefer an alternative method, follow these steps:
Step 1: Check the Dongle's Status
- Ensure the green light on the SunShift dongle is not blinking rapidly. If it’s blinking slowly or steadily, you can proceed with this method.
- If it is blinking quickly then wait two minutes after powering on the dongle for it to start blinking slowly.
Step 2: Connect to the SunShift Network
Go to your phone's Wi-Fi settings.
Look for a network named SunShift followed by the serial number on the side of your dongle(e.g., SunShift40100123).
Click to connect to this network.
When prompted, enter the password: SunShift@123.

Note: Your phone may indicate that this network has no internet connection. This is normal. Confirm that you want to connect anyway.
Step 3: Access the Configuration Page
- Open a web browser on your phone.
- In the URL field, type http://192.168.13.241/wifi and press Enter.
- A screen will appear asking for the Wi-Fi Name (SSID) and password.
Step 4: Enter Wi-Fi Details
- Provide your Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password.
- Click Submit.
- The page will update, confirming that the new details have been saved.
Step 5: Check the Connection
- The SunShift dongle will attempt to connect to the provided Wi-Fi network. If successful, the green light will stay on solid.
- If the connection fails, revisit http://192.168.13.241/wifi and try again ensuring the details provided are correct.
Troubleshooting Tips
- Ensure your Wi-Fi network is within range and that it’s a 2.4GHz network.
- If the device still doesn’t connect, you may try entering the Wi-Fi details again.
- Wi-Fi SSID and Passwords are case sensitive so take note of any capitalization, double spaces or special characters.
- For further assistance, contact Xemote support at 012 665 1122 via call or WhatsApp.
This method provides a straightforward way to connect your SunShift device to your home Wi-Fi network without needing to rely on the app's initial setup process.
